Yamuleé Dance Company is a Bronx-based salsa team, founded in 2003 and directed by Osmar Perrones. With roots in New York mambo, the company is known for lightning-fast spins, crisp shines, tight formations, and cleanly executed tricks. They are one of the most in-demand salsa teams, and are invited to perform at major salsa congresses around the world.
Over the years, Yamuleé has trained generations of dancers through a rigorous studio program and a family of student and pre-pro teams, building a pipeline from beginner to stage-ready performer. Notable alumni include principal star Karel Flores, world champion Delia Madera, and Melany Mercedes. Other Yamuleé alums have gone on to form their own dance teams including Oneysis Tony (Framboyán Dance Company), Ernesto & Denisse (Iroko Dance Academy) and José Díaz (Euphoria Dance Company).
Beyond the stage, the company’s influence shows up across the social floor and in classrooms worldwide: alumni and franchise projects carry the Yamuleé aesthetic– fast spins, precion turn patterns, and smooth style– into scenes far beyond New York City.
