About this event
Every Thursday evening, Plaza Independencia in Pachuca transforms into an open-air dance space, drawing dancers and music lovers to celebrate the joyful rhythms of cumbia. This community-centered initiative takes place in the iconic esplanade surrounding the Monumental Clock, a beloved landmark in the heart of the city. From 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, locals gather to move to traditional Colombian and Mexican cumbia beats, creating a festive and inclusive atmosphere.
The event is part of a broader cultural effort to promote dance and community wellness in Pachuca. Participants range from beginners taking their first steps to seasoned dancers who treat the plaza as their weekly dance floor. No partner or prior experience is required—just a willingness to join in and enjoy the rhythm.
These Thursday cumbia nights are completely free and open to the public, making them accessible to families, students, and seniors alike. The event fosters connection through music and movement in one of Pachuca’s most historic and scenic spaces.
