Viernes Cultural: Latin Night at Lugar Plaza
Salsa Lesson, Salsa Social
Every last Friday of the month
About this event
Viernes Cultural is a vibrant, family-friendly celebration of Latin culture held monthly at Lugar Plaza in downtown Indianapolis. This free event brings the community together for an evening of music, dance, and food in an open-air setting that welcomes guests of all ages.
Each installment features a beginner-friendly dance lesson to kick things off, followed by a lively social dance floor and live music from local Latin bands such as 317 Proyecto, Son de Esquina, and Pavel & Direct Contact. The plaza fills with the sounds of salsa, bachata, and Latin jazz, creating a festive atmosphere in the heart of the city.
Food trucks and beverage vendors—including favorites like Paco’s Taqueria, The Garnacha Spot, Lucky’s Ice Cream, and Just Call Kate—offer a diverse mix of Latin American cuisine, snacks, and refreshments starting in the early evening.
The event is designed with accessibility in mind, offering ADA parking, dog-friendly spaces, and convenient bike-share access via the Cultural Trail. While Viernes Cultural is free to attend, guests are encouraged to register in advance to help organizers plan accordingly. Front-row table seating is available with a small donation.
It’s the perfect way to kick off a summer weekend—enjoy Latin culture, connect with the community, and dance under the stars.
Important: Event times are subject to change. Always double-check with the event organizer before making plans.
