Junior Salsa is a free monthly Latin dance program for youth aged 4–20 held at Emily Douglas Park in Columbia, SC. Taking place every 4th Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM, this engaging event combines salsa lessons, dance socials, etiquette and social skills, dance cards, and food—all in a supportive and fun environment.
Organized by Columbia Parks & Recreation, Junior Salsa builds confidence, social development, and friendships for young dancers. The event is inclusive, welcoming participants regardless of dance experience, and encourages both learning and creativity.
The venue, Emily Douglas Park, offers a safe outdoor space for this community-focused initiative. All activities are free of charge and designed to be both educational and exciting.
