The Jazz Kitchen’s iconic Latin Dance Party has been a staple of Indianapolis nightlife every Thursday since 1996. The evening begins with a free salsa or bachata lesson at 8:30 PM, led by seasoned local instructors Austin Davis and Jen Gaskill. Designed for all skill levels, the class provides a welcoming introduction for beginners and a great warm-up for regulars.
After the lesson, the venue transforms into a buzzing social dance floor where professional salseros and newcomers dance side-by-side. DJ Rican and DJ LatinSpy keep the energy high with a dynamic mix of salsa, bachata, merengue, reggaeton, and cumbia.
Located in a classic jazz club setting, The Jazz Kitchen adds to the ambiance with handcrafted Latin cocktails—like mojitos and margaritas—and a small plates menu, with drink specials available until 8 PM. The event offers a spirited, inclusive atmosphere where dancers can connect, move, and enjoy the rhythm of the night.
